1. What
do I need to print and turn in with the money?
Forms are located on the right side of the blog under pages--
There are 3 pages to print (1 registration form and 2 pg policies and consent
form)
Please
print these and mail or deliver them with payment.
You can also contact us via our fb page and we can send you a link to a form to
print
1. Policies & Consent forms (print both pages of this
document, turn in one policies and consent from per family- if multiple
children, just write all their names on the form)
2. REGISTRATION FORM ( one per child, per session-- as it
has personalized info for each swimmer)
2. How does Little Fish Swim School assign the class time?
We try really hard to make the class times work best for you. (As a mom,
I think this is really important-- so you aren't poolside longer than necessary
and to simplify your life :) So the way we do it is that once we have
your forms and payment- we'll fill the schedule. I don't know what levels
are available until we start signups- this allows for the most flexibility when
I am trying to make this work best for families. I will be in touch with
you and make sure you can do the times of the classes. Please let me know your class time preferences on the registration form
3. Should I sign up ahead of time for more than one session.
YES. (sorry, not yelling, I promise, but yes, please please do- if you
want more than one session, sign up early- they fill up). You need a
registration form and payment for each session/child. The Waiver form
needs to only be printed once for the summer. If you wait, there won't be spots
in later sessions
4. What if I sign up early for the wrong class (like if my child passes a class
I didn't think they would, or hasn't quite mastered one and needs to keep
working at the same level) This is the tricky part. This is a hard
part-- Because we have wait lists of swimmers wanting to get in, we can't save
spots or offer refunds if reserved spots aren't right. Rest easy- we want
you to be happy and we will do everything we can to make it work, IF WE CAN,
but if it is not possible, we cannot offer a refund. So please think
carefully when registering, esp for multiple sessions:)
5.Do you have afternoon classes?
Usually, no, but we can add them if the morning classes are full and we have
enough students interested. In years past, we just add lessons on to the
morning if needed, i.e. we add in a 12:30 or 1:00 class.
6. Class size
Max of 3 students in group lessons-- it was one of our founding goals to keep
class sizes small. This allows for maxium learning and saftey and is the most productive way to spend your swim session!
7. Bad weather
As our schedule is full before lessons start, we can't promise to make up for
inclement weather. - we will do everything we can to add in an extra lesson if we get rained out etc. We don't swim if there are indicators of lightening-- if it's just sprinkling, we swim. The pool is heated. Even if we can reschedule it's tricky to find another time that works for every
student, so we'll do our best, but there are no refunds for cancellations due
to weather.
8. Location...where is Little Fish Swim School?
It is located at a home pool in Meridian off Chinden and Blackcat.
9. What are the qualifications of your instructors:
Our instructors each are Red Cross Swim Instruction and Water Safety Certified. They undergo extensive swim strokes and teaching methods preparation. They log practice hours and have CPR training. On a personal note, they love kids and the owner/manager of Little Fish Swim school is a certified educator with 6 years classroom experience and lesson planning background.
10. What
happened to your private lessons?
Because interest has been so high (which is wonderful and we love it and are
grateful) we were having to turn away a lot of people because our classes were
filling up so fast. For every private lesson we scheduled, we turned away
two other swimmers that could have made it a group class. So we decided that
for the most part, we'd just offer group lessons. Our group classes are
considered semi private as they just have a max of three students- so the instruction
is very personalized.
11. How can I contact Little Fish Swim School?
The best way if you know Holly, is to text her.
If you are new to us, please message Holly on Facebook (she'll see it fastest
that way)
You can also email us (see contact us section)
12. When can we see dates available/ and register?
Sign ups begin the first week in April. Calendars will be available with
session dates at that time as well. We will try to update on Facebook
when these schedules are open for registration.
13. Are siblings allowed by pool during lessons?
No- we
have found that this is a safety liability and also distracting to teachers and
our little fish so only children that are in a swim lesson are allowed in
backyard during lesson time. Our home pool is not gated, and so for the safety and focus of our instructors and swimmers, we only allow students in a lesson in the backyard.
14. Is
there a multiple child discount?
Sorry.
there is not. Thank you for your support of our teachers. They use
the money to save for college and missions! Our semi private lessons are
$75 per swimmer for a session - which includes 4 50 minute classes)
