Policies and Consent (print one copy per family)

LITTLE FISH SWIM SCHOOL POLICIES & CONSENT

______Thank you for your  interest & trust in Little Fish Swim School.  We have over 6 years experience and love our program and know it is effective. Our teachers are certified swim instructors.  Your child’s safety and confidence in the water is very important to us.  It is our goal to make swim lessons productive and FUN!   We believe that kids do well in classes with other swimmers of their level.  But we also believe that small classes are SO much better than large ones, so we only offer semi private lessons (meaning our class size for each class is a max of three little swimmers)

______Only swimmers are allowed in the backyard of Little Fish Swim School (We’re sorry, BUT NO SIBLINGS, even with a parent- this is the way we can focus all our attention on our swimmers and keep everyone safe) A parent is welcome during lessons, but also can just drop off their swimmer at lesson time and we’ll send them outside gate as soon as their lesson is done)

______We follow the Red Cross Swim Program.  Swimmers progress through the levels at different rates.  It’s not expected that they will pass an entire level with just one session (some do & we’ll recognize and advance them based on passing swim level test; but some need a little extra practice for more session within that level- and we’ll celebrate their progress too. We will provide all the encouragement and support to keep them going!) We will provide an annotated swim exit test on the last day of swim lessons so you can see very specifically skills mastered and skills that still need some practice.

______Each session consists of four 50 min  lessons, M-Th (Friday if needed for cancellations due to weather) No makeup lesson due to swimmer illness, traveling etc. We allow 10 minutes between classes to help parents come and go without too many cars in driveway- please be punctual.  (This includes not dropping swimmers too early as they are not supervised until it is their lesson time) *(and please remember, no siblings in the backyard that are not in lessons that hour)

______We do not provide goggles.  They are encouraged esp. for levels 3 &4, but not required.

______As a part of each session we will take about 15 minutes total to discuss water safety as it is a part of the Red Cross Swim program.

______Please REMEMBER to take your child to the bathroom BEFORE lessons.  We do not have outside access to bathrooms.  In case of an emergency, they can use the restroom in the home, but we’d rather keep swimmers outside.

______Sometimes we take pictures or video for our website or to share with parents of the swimmers involved. Holly being poolside can capture some fun shots for you-No one is ever tagged in these posts.

_____Please be aware of our wonderful neighbors as you come and go from swim lessons – you are welcome to park in the driveway.  Please go slowly through the neighborhood. If you would like to have your child just come out to your car when they are done, please let us know at the start of your session and we’re happy to do that. Swimmers will enter and exit the backyard through the brown gate on the right side of home- (basketball hoop side of driveway)

_____Please sign below that you have read through these policies and agree to them.  You also agree to release any and all liability from Little Fish Swim School, its instructors or owners of the residence (Roarke and Holly Miller) where Little Fish Swim School operates from. By signing you also state that the participant named below is physically and mentally able to engage in this activity, and that you understand and accept all risks associated with it. Little Fish Swim School shall not be liable for injury, personal or physical, to persons or property.
